How Mountain Automotive and Performance Was Founded

Our founder, Mike Haviland, brings a unique blend of experience and passion to Mountain Automotive and Performance. After spending over two decades in the military, Mike decided it was time to leave the corporate IT world behind and pursue his lifelong dream of owning a business that truly helps people.

His journey began in 2001 as a Navy mechanic, followed by a stint in the United States Air Force (USAF) as an aircraft mechanic. He later became a C130 Flight Engineer, where precision and attention to detail were a must.

His dedication to service doesn’t stop at the shop doors. Mike also operates a “mechanics ministry” in partnership with a local church, where he and his team fix cars for those in need, often charging only the cost of parts. Outside of helping those in the Caldwell community with their cars, he enjoys racing with his Corvette, fishing, and camping in the surrounding area with his family.
